In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, ISH24 is opening its doors to one of the best confined space and vertical rescue training centres in Australia and inviting 8 women to join us for a week-long nationally accredited rescue training course.
We are looking for women who belong to or wish to join the rescue community from mining, industrial, CFA, or SES rescue teams. Our program is specifically designed with an emphasis on practical training, so participants must be fit and not scared of heights or confined spaces. The ISH24 rescue training centre exposes you to real-life simulated scenarios so be ready for an exhilarating training experience!
2025 will be the sixth annual Women’s Rescue Training Week hosted by ISH24. Based on the feedback from previous participants we are confident that the skills and knowledge that you will gain from attending this course will stick with you for life!

To help us pick the best candidates for this year’s training team, please send us an email or fill out the form below with a brief background on your rescue knowledge, whether you are currently employed or volunteering as a rescue team member and why you would like to be part of this training experience.
Wanting to make this training as accessible as possible for women all across Australia, we are offering this nationally accredited training FREE OF CHARGE.
Attendees will only be required to cover the cost of their own travel, meals and accommodation.
ISH24 is able to assist in booking suitable accommodation and offer shuttle service from accommodation in Bendigo to the training centre.
The training is nationally accredited and at the end of the 5-day course, attendees will obtain a Statement of Attainment for the following units of competency:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Course Pre-Requisite
There are no formal pre-requisites for students enrolling into this training but it is strongly recommended that students have completed the following prior training:
Fitness Requirements
Students must be relatively fit and able to perform the activities which make part of the Assessment Requirements in order to be accurately assessed and deemed competent. Given the nature of the practical assessment, students must be at a minimum fit to climb and crawl, and not have a fear of heights or confined spaces.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy
Sound reading and writing skills required to undertake the written assessment. Reasonable adjustment may be applicable on a case-by-case basis. Please get in contact with us if you have any questions regarding the minimum LLN requirements.
Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Students attending this course require a Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you do not have a USI, you will need to get one from the USI Website: https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-usi

Suitable Clothing
Please arrive in suitable clothing (enclosed footwear mandatory, long sleeve shirts and long pants are recommended).
If students have their own PPE (harness, helmet, safety glasses) they are encouraged to bring those items as well.
Rope Gloves are mandatory for the course. If students do not have their own rope gloves, they can purchase a pair from ISH24 on the first day ($35.00)
What is the cost of the training?
The Women’s Rescue Training week is a FREE training initiative.
Students must cover their own cost for travel, accommodation, meals and any specific PPE.

COVID-19 Management
The health and wellbeing of our personnel and fellow students at ISH24 is our number one priority.
ISH24 will continue to deliver training in a face-to-face environment with the following measures in place:

We continue to closely monitor the constantly evolving situation surrounding coronavirus and will amend our service delivery procedures to stay in line with the advice of the Australian Government.
If you feel unwell the evening before the course, or on the morning of the course, please do not attend.
