This nationally recognised unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to test work atmospheres, using electronic test apparatus, to find out if it is safe for the proposed work.

It applies to situations where an individual may be required to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere prior to entering a specific area or work space.

This nationally recognised unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain breathing apparatus and equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere, as defined by the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1715:2009. This course covers the selection, use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment.

This combined course will provide you with the the skills and knowledge required to test work atmospheres and operate breathing apparatus.

Learners will learn how to test work atmospheres by using electronic test apparatus, to find out if it is safe for the proposed work and operate and maintain breathing apparatus and equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere, as defined by the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1715:2009.

This course is recommended for individuals with industry experience and/or those who have completed the MSMWHS217 and MSMWHS216 courses before.

This course has been developed to meet the legislative requirements and provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to complete a hazard analysis and issue work permits.

Upon completion of this course, students will be issued the following national units of competency:

MSMPER300 – Issue work permits

MSMWHS201 – Conduct hazard analysis

The application of this unit in the workplace covers a range of confined space rescue situations. The course is typically performed by personnel from emergency services and/or volunteer organisations or organisations where confined space work is  undertaken. This training covers the competency required to undertake rescue in confined spaces, as defined in AS 2865-2009 Confined spaces, as a member of a single agency or multi-disciplinary team.

Upon completion of this course, students will be issued the following national units of competency:

PUASAR025 Undertake confined space rescue

MSMWHS216 Operate breathing apparatus

PUAFIR207 Operate breathing apparatus open circuit

PUAFIR210 Prevent injury

This course is designed for individuals working in or with previous industry experience.

Our confined space training is designed to give our learners the most immersive learning experience. Our goal is to provide each individual with a skill set that will be relevant and easily adapted to his or her individual workplace.

Our training lets you practice and hone your skills, exposing you to perceived risk, while actually being in a fully supervised and controlled environment simulated by an industry expert.

How often do you run RIIWHS202D Enter and work in confined space training courses?

Public Confined Space training courses are scheduled roughly once per week at our East Bendigo Training centre.

How long Confined Space training?

Confined Space training is a full-day course (generally 8:30 am to 4:30 pm)

Exact course start times are listed on the confirmation email received upon enrolment.

 

What is the price of a Confined Space course?

Confined Space training is $300.00 GST free per person.

 

Where is your training facility located?

Confined Space is generally delivered at our East Bendigo training facility located at 10 Trantara Court, East Bendigo VIC

Additional courses may be scheduled at our Goornong Training Centre (Central VIC) or Perth Training Centre (WA).

 

How do I book in for a Confined Space Course?

You can book in by selecting your preferred date from the training calendar online and enrolling into the course through the “APPLY” option

Once enrolled, you will receive an e-mail confirming that we have received your details. Another follow up e-mail will follow from our training department with more details regarding the start time of the course and the invoice for the training.

 

Can you provide Confined Space Training within our workplace?

Yes! We can definitely provide Confined Space training at your workplace. Please give us a call at 1300 001 201 to discuss your training needs further and receive a quote for on-site training.

 

Do you take large group bookings for Confined Space Training?

Currently, any courses delivered at our training facilities are capped at 10 students per class. This is to ensure that proper social distancing is maintained in our classrooms.

For on-site training, we may be able to deliver training to groups larger than 10 students; however, that is dependent on-site policies and the size of the available facilities.
