RIIWHS202D – ENTER AND WORK IN CONFINED SPACES ENQUIRE

Confined spaces are usually not designed for people to work in.

They often have poor ventilation, which allows hazardous atmospheres to quickly develop, especially if the space is small. In addition, hazards are not always obvious and may change from one entry point to the next.

The code of practice for confined space states that workers and their supervisors must have the skills and knowledge to understand the hazards associated with working in the confined space, the contents of any confined space entry permit, and the control measures implemented for their protection.

This nationally recognised course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to enter and work in confined spaces. This course is designed to meet the requirements from the Resources and Infrastructure Industries training package, RII09.

Learners will understand how to identify industry requirements, plan and prepare for working in a confined space. Additionally, learners will be able enter and work safely inside a confined space and then exit safely, including cleaning up their work area when the tasks are completed.

This is a 1-day course

RIIWHS204D – WORK SAFELY AT HEIGHTS ENQUIRE

Under Australian WHS regulation, there is no minimum height requirement to be considered working at heights so long as there is a risk of a fall from one level to another. If your business operations include working at heights, providing work-appropriate training for your staff is a mandatory requirement under the Victorian Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004 and the Australian Workplace Health & Safety Act 2011.

The best way to ensure your employees receive appropriate training is to have them obtain nationally accredited training in Working safely at heights. This course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate in roles where they are required to perform work at heights.

MSMWHS217 – GAS TEST ATMOSPHERES ENQUIRE

Work environments may be hazardous, unpredictable, subject to time pressure, chaotic and expose workers to risk, on land or water, by day or night. Workplace atmospheres may include visible and invisible hazards and hazardous surfaces.

Workers must have the proper training to allow them to manage the risk to themselves and others in the workplace.

This nationally recognised unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to test work atmospheres, using electronic test apparatus, to find out if it is safe for the proposed work.

It applies to situations where an individual may be required to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere prior to entering a specific area or work space. The competency requires the learner to interpret readings and take actions based on the interpretation.
